Apple iPhone 5 was the best-selling smartphone in the fourth quarter of the year 2012. The Apple iPhone 5 beat Samsung Galaxy S III by becoming the best-selling smartphone in the fourth quarter of 2012.
An increase from 6 million in the third quarter of 2012 to 27.4 million units in the fourth quarter in the global shipments.
It was actually the iPhone 4S that led to the dominance of the Apple products in the market as the inclusive sales of both Apple products beat the Samsung Galaxy S III. But it isn’t completely unfair, as Samsung also has a rise in it’s selling numbers through the Galaxy Note and Galaxy Note II.
Samsung might just be launching S III’s successor, probably the S4 due to the extreme competition in the market from Nokia Lumia 920, Nexus 4 and the Blackberry Z10.
