YouTube Copyright Issue Still Going On

Many gamers who upload footage of video games to YouTube are still getting worrisome “content ID” matches that threaten to upend YouTube’s gaming content as we know it. However on day three of this disputation, some game publishers seem to be taking steps to assist these gamers out.

This story is flowering speedily as alleged Content ID notices still fill the inbox of big and small gaming YouTubers. Meanwhile, YouTubers and a bevy of game creators are taking to Twitter to speak regarding it, posting useful videos to YouTube explaining things and talking on to reporters and bloggers.

Content claims do keep returning in, as YouTube’s copyright-sniffing bots still crawl any monetized videos—videos on which the uploader is running ads—in search of matching content which may infringe on someone’s rights. Those bots are claiming videos on behalf of game publishers, music rights holders and, in some cases, apparently random parties.

There have been various statements from various game publishers who quickly want the dispute to end.
