The Red-hot Chinese smartphone-maker Xiaomi has achieved remarkable success with its MIUI App store that has managed to get 1 billion downloads in a span of one year or 391 days to be precise.
Xiaomi claims to have its own highly adaptable Android-based MIUI firmware which its devices are built on, and developers have created lot of apps for the operating system. Xiaomi has gained over 17 million active users and records 1.3 million daily searches in addition to 5 million daily downloads, since the launch of its app store. Presently, the App store claims to be ranked number 5 among the more than 200 different app stores in China.
Xiaomi devices are preinstalled with the MIUI app store and 70 percent of Xiaomi smartphone users prefer this app store to download their apps. Reportedly, Xiaomi has already sold 7.03 million devices in the first half of this year, which is just a part of the 7.19 million units it sold during the whole of 2012.
However, MIUI App store is set to grow even more rapidly with increased sales of its devices.
