The much anticipated VGX Awards took place on December 7. As announced, Spike dropped its traditional theatre format for a more modern or whatever-that-was in the new format VGX, increasing the show’s length to three hours, but it was superficial to minimize its purpose: acknowledge the simplest games of the year. Following twenty-three awards were given:
