Users experiencing problems with PS4 preventing an HDMI wire from being plugged in all the way can now fix the problem simply, according to Kotaku, which experienced the same problem.
According to the site, the HDMI port itself was the problem, not the console, attributable to a chunk of metal not being flush with the bottom of the port.
Because the metal piece wasn’t square with the entry point, it kept the HDMI wire from being obstructed in all the way. It would also damage the wire within the process.
The fix: press the piece of metal down thus it’s not sticking up; plug the wire back in and it works.
The explanation for the matter is unknown, however feels like a producing issue, and it’s unknown if users aside from Kotaku have practised the same issue. But, it’s better to be safe than sorry – so check your system to create positive if you’re having HDMI problems.
