The much awaited, Blackberry Z10 was released in India last Monday. US, UK, Canada all saw the release of Z10 a month back (30th Jan) itself. The zeal with which people eagerly waited for this phone is ineffable.
Analysts have described the Blackberry Z10 launch as a “make or break” for the company that has been struggling to remain afloat for years now and is the most ambitious effort to date to regain it’s lost glory in the smartphone segment, which it had revolutionised but soon lost to Samsung and Apple.
Pitched at a colossal price Rs. 43,490, Blackberry Z10 is an indication of the brilliant features it’s got in stores for it’s users.
Device is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, a 2GB RAM. It comes with 16GB on-board memory, which can be expanded up to 64GB using a microSD card. For the photographer in you, the device has an 8 megapixel camera with LED flash ensuring that you capture all the epic moments of life. A front camera of 2 megapixel is also provided. ‘BlackBerry Balance’ has also been introduced which enable users separate professional data and applications from music, photographs and other personal items.
BlackBerry has been at the receiving end of criticism for the lack of content on it’s application store. Z10 showcases a modernized and revamped BlackBerry World which now includes over 70,000 BlackBerry 10 apps.
The official figures are not out yet but if Boy Genius Report is to be believed half of BlackBerry Z10 sales in Canada and a third of UK sales are users switching from Android based and Apple phones. According to the site, a couple of BlackBerry executives have already confirmed Canada’s numbers internally, though officially Blackberry has not yet commented on the matter.
