Next Two iPhones Designed By Steve Jobs?

According to the San Francisco Examiner, the next two iPhones may have been designed by Steve Jobs himself. The San Francisco District Attorney George Gascón said that this was implied in the discussions regarding smartphone theft in the city with Apple’s Government liaison Michael Foulkes. Apparently, the majority of the phone’s involved were iPhones. Gascón is keen on introducing technology which would discourage the theft of phones.

He was somewhat disappointed with the result of the discussions, and said that they were pretty underwhelming, with Foulkes doing most of the talking. “It was incredible. He would just go on and on, one subject to the next,” said Gascón. “It was hard to follow. It was almost like someone who’s been trained in the art of doing a lot of talking and saying nothing.” Foulkes discussed concepts involving a kill-switch technology for lost and stolen devices.

But when it came to the matter of the next two iPhones, Gascón said that Foulkes stated that “they preceded Tim Cook.” This would imply that Steve Jobs was involved with the design and technology of these phones. Though Gascón hasn’t been very successful in his quest to decrease the rates of mobile thefts, he has been told that it is possible to implement the technology, but in the end it’s the manufacturers who have to implement it, and they might just not want to when it helps them gain profits.
