Most Mac Pro customers had a lot to complain about last year, but this year, they’re struck speechless. Revealed at the WWDC 2013, the new Mac Pro is considerably smaller than it’s predecessor, but definitely more unique, with it’s cylindrical shape. It’s perfectly balanced, with a diameter and height of 6.6 inches and 9.9 inches respectively.
The previous Mac Pro was pretty awesome and the most fastest-selling Mac, but this new version is better, and more powerful, despite it’s smaller size. “With the latest Xeon processors, dual FirePro GPUs, ECC memory, PCIe-based flash and Thunderbolt 2, all built around a revolutionary thermal core, the next generation Mac Pro is the most radical Mac yet,” said Phil Schiller, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Apple. “All this performance and expandability is packed into a dramatic new design that’s one-eighth the volume, and best of all, it will be assembled here in the USA.”
Apple clearly understood what those upset customers were saying last year, and decided to do something about it. The new Mac Pro includes a USB 3, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI 1.4 ports, six ports for Thunderbolt 2, Apple’s new connection that will give you up to 20Gbps of bandwidth to each external device. The device will also have the new PCI Express flash storage (which is in fact pretty fast), 12 Xeon processing cores from Intel, dual workstation GPUs with simultaneous support for up to three high-resolution 4K desktop displays, and a four-channel DDR3 memory controller delivering up to 60GB/s of memory bandwidth.
All the Apple fans can barely contain their excitement after this new reveal, since it’s unlike any other Apple device released up till now.
