In the recent light of events, it has come to view that Google has purchased land worth $1.04 billion. The new headquarter “Bay View” is going to be built near the same place as the previous HQ. Google has released the watercolour drawing of the new HQ, and it sure is going to leave every viewer awed and mesmerized for hours together.
The new Google Headquarters are designed by NBBJ in Mountain View, California. Architectural critic, Paul Goldberger of Vanity Fair calls them “a somewhat more conventional choice. I must confess that I had to look them up; they have done big, important, effective and pretty anonymous work.”
To get the best outcome out of it’s employees, Google is leaving no stone unturned. The proof being that the new headquarters are designed in such a way that people can jog, exercise or do their daily workout on the roof. The architects were not new to the concept of rooftop yoga, thus the googlers could always take a break and work on that growing belly. Special tents have been designed to allow the googlers to enjoy a nap in between the working hours.te
Google is believed to have taken it’s idea for the new HQ from Steve Jobs. This was seen clearly when the civil engineer behind the new HQ was seen using Apples Spaceship HQ to describe Google’s upcoming building.
Google’s Bay View layout shows that it has rectangles, bent in the middle to form angles. They explode out from a central courtyard in many directions. One look at Apple’s HQ shows that it is a complete circle. Controlled and encapsulated. Both campuses may have been designed to spark “casual collisions” and “unplanned collaborations,” but each has been designed in a way to reflect the ideas and ideals of each company.
It is believed that googlers like to have fun at work, they want to go to work, stay at work, and, successively work at work. It’s Google’s way of attracting talent and get the best out of them.
