MacBook Pro Gets Stolen, Sends Owner Pictures Secretly

Dom Del Torto is an animator who is currently living in U.K, and is the man who’s laptop got stolen and started sending him pictures of it’s new owners and location, which is Iran.

His laptop and iPad got stolen in February when someone broke into his flat in London. The iPad hasn’t been found and probably never will be, but luckily he had installed the Hidden App in his MacBook Pro, which tracks the device’s location, and is able to send back pictures of it’s surroundings. A month after it got stolen, the device came online, but Del Torto could not retrieve it, as his laptop was in Tehran, Iran which is over 3,000 miles away.

Del Torto did not have the option of tracking his laptop all the way to Iran, so he started posting the pictures on Tumblr, as Dom’s laptop is in Iran. The pictures included the woman who is the new owner of the laptop, and her family members. But according to Del Torto’s posts, these people are not the ones who stole his laptop.

‘The innocent new owners of my laptop have been in touch and are mortified about the story and are keen to return the laptop. Given the huge error of judgement on my part in sharing the story and failing to respect their privacy I have asked them to keep it by means of an apology.’
