Jose Mourinho Expresses His Dislike Over Suarez’s ‘Dive’

Jose Mourinho didn’t mince words when asked about Luis Suarez and his alleged dive, for which the Liverpool players and fans demanded a penalty.

Chelsea won 2-1 against Liverpool on Friday and that has sparked a lot of controversy among the fans of both the teams.

Mourniho said that the least the referee could do was book the player for diving. Chelsea came from behind to come close to Arsenal who are still at the top of the tale.

Eto’o scored the winning goal for Chelsea, but many believe that he was given a reprieve by the referee for a challenge on Jordan Henderson.

“Suarez lost a duel with Azpilicueta, Azpilicueta has the ball and is leaving the box with the ball and now he’s doing an acrobatic swimming pool jump to try to get the penalty, because he’s so clever because he’s in the area where the Liverpool supporters behind. But (referee Howard) Webb is 10 metres away. And I think the only mistake Webb did was not to give him a yellow card,” Mourinho said.

After repeated questions from the press, Mourinho did admit that there was a slight contact between Eto’o and Suarez. It is known that Mourinho loves Suarez for his skill and talent but does appreciate him faking fouls often. “He is amazing. Brendan Rodgers is doing a great job with the team,” he said.

“Premier League players in this country deserve fantastic respect because what they do is amazing. To play in this period is beautiful. I love it. I keep saying I love it. The players are monsters in a good sense of the word… It is fantastic propaganda for what football is,” Mourinho said.
