The Heartbleed Bug not Affecting the Apple’s Cloud

The scary Heartbleed security flaw wont bother you when you are using Apple’s cloud, iCloud, an Apple spokesperson has confirmed.

The confirmation has been made for all of its devices and web services. All of these associated with Apple are safe from the bug and it was also confirmed that its devices never used the problematic software at all.

“Apple takes the security very seriously. iOS and OS X never incorporated the scary software and key Web-based services were not affected,” said Apple’s spokesperson.

It was quite clear that Apple’s devices, be it iOS or Mac, wouldn’t get affected by the bug in the first place. The problem typically lied in the security software used by many websites, known as OpenSSL and was not there in the operating system software used by a Mac, smartphone or tablet.

The best part was that the safely of iCloud.com was also verified and has been given a clearance.
