First Look At Marvel’s All Hail The King Starring Ben Kingsley

Marvel has revealed full details about its next project called All Hail The King which stars Ben Kingsley.

All Hail The King will boast the story of “The Mandarin”, AKA narcotics, booze, girls and footie-happy actor Trevor Slattery, who was part of Aldrich Killian (Guy Pearce)’s big plan in the latest Tony Stark adventure. The short will continue the story of Slattery, sent to prison for his part in the scheme.

Iron Man 3 co-writer Drew Pearce Tell EW:”‘The Further Adventures of Trevor’ was something we had always been mentioning on the sets, And when we sat down to talk about what the short would be, it was executive producer Stephen Broussard, and Kevin Feige and myself and Joss Whedon and Avengers producer Jeremy Latcham. So we kicked around a bunch of ideas and there were loads of them that we liked, and it was actually Joss who at a certain point went like, ‘Or you could do the one that has Sir Ben Kingsley in it because you have access to Sir Ben Kingsley.’”

Pearce wrote and directed the 14-minute follow-up, which shows Slattery dealing with newfound fame, particularly among the terrorist types already in the prison who are not at all interested on him leaving a ridicule of their organization

“Imagine a real terrorist organization whose beliefs were long held and religious for thousands of years, and imagine a drunk, British actor coming along and essentially telling the world that he’s the face of your organization,” Pearce says. “I think they would be right to be quite angry.”

The One-Shot will be part of the Thor: The Dark World Blu-Ray, which hits UK stores on February 24 and US stores on February 25.
