FileMaker Pro 13 Appears On Apple’s Online Store Before The Scheduled Release

It has almost been 20 months since the launch of FileMaker Pro 12 by Apple FileMaker. Apple showcased their upcoming debut of their next-gen database software, FileMaker Pro13. It has hit the online stores in numerous countries. Various versions of FileMaker Pro12 are also heavily discounted in those stores with the latest ones listed as shipping “within 24 hours”. However, no official announcement has been made yet, regarding their launch.

Reliable sources reveal that the new listings come with a “Share” button in the toolbar. It also comes with a 7-styled makeover for the FileMaker Go apps. They are primarily for the iPod and the iPad. Otherwise, it looks similar to the previous version, with the same box art as their predecessors. The description of the product is also generic and there are no discussions of the new features or any other details on the software.

In Apple’s UK online store, the FileMaker Pro13 versions include:

  • FileMaker Pro 13 for the iPad, iPhone, Mac, PC and web. It is priced at £286.95.
  • FileMaker Pro 13 for Non-Profit and Education. It is priced at £199.95.
  • FileMaker Pro 13 Advanced for iPad, iPhone, Mac, PC and web. It is priced at £454.95.
  • FileMaker Pro 13 Advanced for iPad, iPhone, Mac, PC and web. It is priced at £454.95.
  • FileMaker Pro 13 Advanced for Non-Profit and Education (£272.95).

Currently, new versions of FileMaker Server are not listed in any of the Apple’s stores.

Apart from the FileMaker Pro, FileMaker had offered a number of consumer-centered Mac and iOS database apps under the name of Bento. However, the line was discontinued a few months ago.

Apple is known for dumping products very soon. Customers need to wary of that and should not jump to FileMaker.

Any user would like to use a database system for around 20 to 30 years, having complete access to all old data. Apple’s reputation is poor when it comes to legacy support. Great business need legacy support because it helps in continuing their access to data and its applications.
