During its annual developer conference this year, Apple had talked about venturing into the field of Cars. They talked about bringing iOS to vehicles, though not yet divulging much of the details. iOS 7 beta is reported to include several clues such as an Airplay feature that will allow content from the phone to be beamed to a display in the car.
Apple was granted a patent last week for a new car dashboard that is slated to make most of the manual controls in a vehicle digital, letting the driver control everything a touchscreen. This patent happens to be a continuation of a previous patent filed in 2011. This service allows iPhone 5 to connect to the user’s car’s in-dash system to make phone calls, send and receive messages, access your music and even, get directions.
The “iOS in the Car” is speculated to be released in 2014.
A new feature, Siri support will also let the users do all of those things hands and eyes free. It is currently found installed in GM’s Chevy Spark and Sonic via the Chevrolet MyLink system.
