Apple Fined $670,000 By The Taiwanese officials

Apple has to pay a fine of $670,000, for interfering with iPhone pricing which was a violation according to the Taiwanese officials, by local mobile service providers and handset distributors. According to the reports, the Cupertino tech giant has right to appeal but it could lead to another $1.7 million penalty.

The company has violated article 18 of Taiwan’s Fair Trade Act, by deciding the rate for selling iPhones within country to the main service providers like- Chunghwa Telecom, FarEasTone, and Taiwan Mobile.

“Through the email correspondence between Apple and these three telecom companies we discovered the companies submit their pricing plans to Apple to be approved or confirmed before the products hit the market,” the commission told the newspaper.
