People who have been keeping tabs on the Apple and Samsung case or the patent war, here’s a big new for all of you.
The U.S Federal Judge, Lucy Koh who has been presiding over the court proceeding between the electronic giants, has given the green light to Apple’s Siri in the case against Samsung.
Judge Lucy Koh had originally suspended the case following the first lawsuits ruling, but Apple appealed against the rejection and persuaded the judge to proceed with the lawsuit. The second lawsuit was initially put on hold because according to Judge Koh, the first ruling could have resolved both the cases.
But Judge Koh has ordered both the companies to “significantly” streamline the issues in the case by cutting down on the number of legal claims and expert witnesses, according to an article in Reuters.
Apple has accused Samsung of violating separate batch of patents, including the rights to search technology that is part of the iPhone Siri voice feature. The case is scheduled for trial in March 2014.
