The lease between YouTube and Vevo (owned by Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment and Abu Dhabi Media Group) has been renewed, so now the Videos of music video distributor will remain on Youtube for long.
This terms have not been made public but still its clear that Google will need to invest in VEVO. Though rumours suggest an amount of $40 million to $50 million and 7 percent ownership stake in VEVO. The investment is important for VEVO as it continues to build its international presence. Company increased its prescence in one more European Country Netherland recently, and extended its market by including apps for iOS, Android and Windows Phone Xbox,and music channel VEVO TV. YouTube said in a statement, “We made an investment in VEVO, We are excited by their future prospects and to provide YouTube users with the best possible music experience.” This could also mean No to tie ups with Facebook in future.
