WhatsApp Push To Talk Service

WhatsApp’s co-founder and CEO Jan Koum announced that they are releasing the push-to-talk voice service for the app on the Android OS, iPhone, Windows Phone and Nokia as it passes 200 million monthly active users. And the update would be available in 24 hours to all its users.

The feature allows users to use it as a walkie-talkie, recording voice messages and sending them. The push to record feature sends the message upon releasing the button, and can un-send it by just swiping the message to the left.

WhatsApp currently reached 300 million monthly active users, with 20 million active users in each India, Spain, Mexico and Germany.

The Instant messenger service processes about 31 billion messages per day of which 11 billion are sent from WhatsApp users and 20 billion messages received.
