West Brom Sacks Steve Clarke Due To Dismal Performances

Steve Clarke has been sacked from West Bromwich Albion as the head coach after four successive losses in the Premier League.

The Baggies were only 2 points above the relegation zone and the West Bromwich management did not want the club to slip up any further.

The chairman, Jeremy Peace is a ruthless person and wants results. They have won only 20% of the games played in 2013 and that is a major blow to West Brom. In fact, they put in a lot of money to strengthen their first-team squad. This is probably their best squad and the club is definitely under-performing.

West Bromwich are at their best when they play attractive football. Albion have only won seven of their 34 Premier League games. Keith Downing, the joint assistant coach, would take control over the team while the management hunts for a new coach.

The track record of the club shows that they don’t take decisions lightly as they have changed the coach only three times in 14 years. With important games coming up this month, it was probably necessary to give the club its chance to shine in the Premier League.

“Our player wage bill is probably the highest in the history of the club and we have built a squad which is expected to compete hard in the Premier League”, a spokesperson form West Brom said.

With heavy investment like Stephane Sessegnon and Everton stiker, Victor Anichebe, the club definitely needs to perform a lot better.

Clarke became the head coach of the club in June 2012 and was out of contract at the end of the season.
