Canonical’s crowd-funded fundraising campaign, The Ubuntu Edge, aimed for the development of next-gen smartphone OS interfaced with PC ended up with $19 million short of its ambitious target of $32 million.
Mainly consumers are willing for paying proposed $695 price point for the hybrid device, hybrid dual boot tablet PC’s have not taken off quite well but still the campaign received very good response.
The device for which crowd-funding was being done has on board 128GB internal storage, dual-LTE receivers, 4GB of RAM, and option to dual-boot Android and the Ubuntu mobile/desktop OS.
