Twitter Music Source Code Reveals Important Information

Twitter Music has been making the buzz for quite sometime now. The latest piece of information that has hit the stacks is that the service will have both a Web interface and a separate app, will offer streaming, as well as integrate with Spotify, Rdio, iTunes, Soundcloud, Vevo and YouTube. This information has come from the sites code designer, Youssef Sarhan. Sarhan managed to look at the source code for that page’s CSS file.

Many have already noted the music.twitter.com subdomain, and some have looked at it’s source code also. But now it appears that Twitter has removed the login page completely to prevent further leaks. Not much information has been available about the design either. All that is known so far is that there will be music specifically labelled as “explicit.”

Meanwhile, the controls for playback will feature a CD. Interestingly, there’s a next button but no previous button. Sarhan discovered that the service will integrate with the following six services:

  • .iconmusic-spotify-connect-btn
  • .iconmusic-player-source-rdio
  • .iconmusic-player-source-itunes
  • .iconmusic-player-source-soundcloud
  • .iconmusic-player-source-vevo
  • .youtube-vid player

Other notable features include artist biographies, being able to compose tweets from the music app, follow other users, charts and shows, being able to buy songs, etc.

Sound Cloud adds that “we are in regular discussions with Twitter on a number of initiatives. At this time, we cannot comment on anything specific.”
