EA’s Blake Jorgensen during the company’s announcement of FYQ2 results, stated that Respawn Entertainment’s highly anticipated shooting game will be available exclusively for Xbox 360, Xbox one and PC.
This exclusivity came in as a surprise to Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella. He took on to twitter to express his feelings on the decision. Though he pledged that his studio will be making games for PlayStation in the future.
EA Labels president Frank Gibeau had previously said that he felt the exclusivity to be a tactical one.
“There are tactical opportunities from time to time on a title or on a service component that we do enter into a relationship with one or two of the first parties on that particular opportunity and we’ll execute on it,” said Gibeau.
“Titanfall is an example of that. It’s a product that came in through our EA Partners group, it’s a partnership with Respawn, and there was an opportunity for Microsoft, EA and Respawn to create a tactical opportunity to make Titanfall exclusive to Microsoft,” he added.
Titanfall will be releasing in March next year.
