Swansea City’s Home Form Not A Worry, Says Michael Laudrup

Michael Laudrup isn’t majorly concerned with Swansea’s current form at home in the Premier League this season.

The club has only managed to win once at home in the Premier League by thumping Sunderland 4-0, in October. The manager finds the form more bemusing than worrying. Swansea hosts Newcastle United at Liberty stadium on Wednesday.

“We are not keen on racking up victories at home or away, in particular. It is true and a little strange”, said Laudrup.

“We are supposed to get a lot of our points at home. It turns out that we have won a lot more away games. Points are points. It really doesn’t matter where we get them from”, he added.

Swansea’s upcoming games in the next 20 days:

12 Dec v St Gallen (a)
15 Dec v Norwich (a)
22 Dec v Everton (h)
26 Dec v Chelsea (a)
28 Dec v Aston Villa (a)
1 Jan 1 v Man City (h)

Although Swansea struggled to get wins at home, they have managed three away wins on the trot against West Brom, Crystal Palace and Fulham.

Laudrup wants to see his team get 6 points against Newcastle and Hull, the coming week.

“We have two home games coming up and we really want to get the points there. We got four points when we had two consecutive home games the last time. We played against Sunderland and West Ham.”, he added.

Swansea kicked off December on a losing note at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday. They went down 3-0 against Manchester City.

A hectic fixture list awaits Swansea in the festive period. The team would face six games in 20 days. The trip starts from the Swiss side St. Gallen in the Europa league.
