Stronghold Kingdoms Gets Around 3 Million Users Since Debut

Firefly Studios had taken a risk by self-funding Stronghold Kingdoms, a multiplayer real-time strategy game. But it seems that the risk is now paying off, because the castle building game has attracted over 3 million players since its debut on February 27.

Firefly cites a fanatical player base for the game’s success, and notes that the game attracts 200,000 users from 100 countries each month. The “free to play” tag does help in here, but given the number of other online games available to players with identical “free to play” price of entry, the 3 million player figure remains a formidable accomplishment.
