Back in January 2013, Sony had left the audiences awe-struck when it unveiled it’s long time in production 4K OLED TV. The audiences were left enthralled when at CES 2013, Sony revealed that it has produced the world’s first Ultra High Definition television that uses Organic LEDs. Previously the likes of Westinghouse, LG, Toshiba and Hisense had used CES as a platform to launch their 4K TV. Hence Sony also used International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) to showcase the release of it’s upcoming 4K OLED TV.
NAB 2013 was a spectator to the unveiling of the 56-inch set that boasts a native 3,840 x 2,160 OLED panel, and a prototype was on display. There is not even a remote mention of contrast ratio, refresh ratio, thickness, power draw, or any other specifications. The latest development on this front is that the 56 inch set may not be headed to the consumer market for several reasons but may soon become reality in the professional sector. The NAB 2013 witnessed the company showcase a pair of 4K OLED prototypes. The Company showcased an outing of 4,096 x 2,160 30-inch model as well as a 3,840 x 2160 56-inch display. Both panels brag of wide viewing angles and low color shift, promising accurate signal reproduction for industry professionals working with 4K content. So far there is no news on the cost of these beautiful creations but there might be an upgrade update within a year. Sony also announced a refresh for it’s existing line of professional OLED displays.
The 30-inch 4K OLED model is eyeing early 2014 as a release date, while the A series monitors will be available in May,2103. Hold onto your seats, Sony is going to take viewers to a different level altogether.
