Sir Alex Ferguson Looks At The Positives Of Manchester United, This Season

Sir Alex Ferguson is ‘delighted’ to see that Rooney is back to form. He praised his ‘fantastic’ performance against Bayer Leverkusen. Rooney scored to two goals to ensure that Manchester United breezed past Leverkusen a few days ago. Rooney’s future in the club was unsure in the first place. Last season, Ferguson claimed that the 27-year old forward wanted to leave the club. Ferguson was always unsure about Rooney’s long-time future at the club.

Rooney was a key transfer target for Chelsea in the transfer window. However, United stood firm and refused to sell the prolific forward to their rivals.

David Moyes has been pleased with Rooney’s early-season form and believed that the forward is ‘world class’.

Rooney’s two goals against Leverkusen took his tally to 200 goals for Manchester United.

“Wayne was brilliant. He has got his energy back and attacks with a lot more purpose. It is important that Vidic is fit for the entire season. The forwards shouldn’t be the only ones winning the games for the club. With Robin Van Persie and Rooney, the club boasts of one of the best pair of forwards ever. Valencia is improving as well. De Gea is maturing and Carrick is as fit as ever. I see a lot of plus points this season, “Ferguson said.

He added that Moyes would improve in the coming games. The defeat against Liverpool is a good learning curve for Moyes.
