Sir Alex Ferguson In Contention As Australian Coach

Mark Bosnich, an ex-Red Devils goalkeeper wants Sir Alex Ferguson to come out of his retirement and coach the Australian football team. This news comes in the wake of Holger Osieck on Friday.

Bosnich spent four years under Ferguson. He believes that the Scot would provide the much needed balance to the Socceroos, if he comes out of retirement and coaches the team.

In other news, Guus Hiddink is the current favourite to take up the position. There is no denying that Hiddink is a tactful coach. However, Bosnich has urged the football Federation of Australia to pursue Alex Ferguson.

“A lot of names have been thrown in the past few days, but I believe the one person who everybody missed out is Sir Alex Ferguson. I am surprised nobody suggested him. I understand that he has retired from the game, but there is always a chance that he would consider taking up the job if he is willing to come out of his retirement. I am just being honest and want the Australian Football team to get the best person to coach the team. He has immense experience under him. It simply has to be Sir Alex Ferguson. Ferguson would command very high standards and that is what we need. In sport, you get what you pay for. If you want the best, you need to pay for it.”

Meanwhile, Lucas Neill is confident of proving his critics wrong, despite the fact that they want him to step down from his captainship.

“I want to remain the captain of the team and the people in charge have immense trust. I am partly responsible for the team’s performance in this tournament. I would ensure that they are in the best shape of mind and will exceed expectations. Football is a game of speculations and opinions. Everyone is entitled to their own.
