The Australian consumer organisation has slammed EA Australia for its poor service, which was clearly indicative at the SimCity’s launch.
The ‘Shonky’ award is a people’s choice award for poor, crafty and devious consumer offerings. Though SimCity’s launch was full of troubles at the global level but EA Australia’s telephone line was the main culprit behind this award.
“After forking out up to $100 for the game, you’re then expected to cough up for after-sales support that’s normally free – as it should be. And this shonkosity is even worse when you consider it’s their fault you’re ringing in the first place,” the consumer organisation cited.
Qantas, Kleenex and EnergyAustralia were the other companies who received the Shonky awards.
