Atlus, the publisher of Shin Megami Tensei 4, has released a few details about the game’s combat moves. They’ve also released new 3DS screen-shots (in English), which are mostly associated with cut-scenes. Shin Megami Tensei 4 is the next game in the Megami Tensei RPG series, and it’s currently being developed for Nintendo 3DS only. The literal meaning of ‘Shin Megami Tensei 4’ is ‘True Goddess Reincarnation 4’. It was first announced on May 29, 2012 in the Japanese gaming magazine, Famitsu. It’s being developed by the publishers Team Maniax and has been directed by Kazuyuki Yamai.
There’s also a new feature which allows you to resolve a battle peacefully. You can sheathe your weapon, and try to find an alternate and peaceful way to resolve the situation with a demon, rather than try to kill it on sight. Pacifists would surely appreciate this new feature.
They’ve also mentioned that ‘Press Turn’ feature is back in this game, and you get different rewards if you can successfully target your opponent’s weakness. Once the player repeatedly takes advantage of the particular weakness, he gains a ‘smirk’, which gives your defence and damage a boost, but of course it’s a two-way road and your opponent can do the same to you if you let your guard-down. Shin Megami Tensei 4 is set to release in North America on July 16 and on May 23 in Japan. but the release date for Europe hasn’t been announced yet.
