Another big tech news at the end of 2013, and this time its about a T-mobile rumor. On Friday, some reports came that Sprint is going for a bid for rival wireless carrier T-Mobile.
But Sprint is citing this news as a most familiar matter among companies. So, don’t even think of it as real upto the year’s end. If anyhow it happens, the value would be worth about $20 billion depending on the deal’s terms.
A T-Mobile spokesman declined to comment, while Sprint said “we do not comment on rumor or speculation.”
Earlier in March 2011, AT&T had announced to acquire T-mobile for $39 billion, as it would help to stop spectrum crunch and spur the companies’ deployment of 4G service. The deal however met a massive backlash due to some fear of duopoly among AT&T and Verizon, the wireless industries and hence job cuts and price hikes.
