RadioShack has started offering MAC accessories in its chain of retail stores in a latest development. These ranges of products are available for online purchases, as well. The electronics item seller, run by the RadioShack Corporation has been an authorized Apple product reseller since 2005. The iPod was the major item which was sold through the network at that time. Later in 2010 the products like iPad and iPhone along with their accessories were also available in RadioShack stores. With this new addition of Mac accessories, consumers will be able to purchase a greater range of Apple products from RadioShack.
Currently, the various Mac products that are available on the RadioShack website for online purchase include the Apple Wireless Keyboard, the Magic Mouse, the Magic Trackpad and others. Even though the current product range is limited just to Mac accessories, it can be expected that in near future a full range of Mac products will be available in RadioShack. The vast sales network of RadioShack consisting of about 7000 outlets, which extends into Europe, South America and Africa, can help Apple to bring their Mac range of products within the reach of more customers.
From a single small store selling ship radios in the 1921, to a large distribution chain spread across four continents at present; RadioShack has come a long way. Presently it offers customers a large array of products ranging from audio equipments to various digital items and tools. It offers computers and related accessories of various other companies like Hewlett-Packard, ASUS, and Toshiba. With the addition of Mac accessories in its sales range, RadioShack is expecting to bring in more number of customers preferring Apple products, into its stores.
It can be noted that Apple is looking to expand its sales network beyond its own branded stores. Recently, it made a similar deal with Staples, the office product supplier, for offering Apple products within United States. Initially the products are to be available only through the online stores and later, they will be racked in the retail stores, as well. The availability of Mac accessories in RadioShack outlets is another step for Apple to reach out to a larger range of customers.
