According to the reports, Netflix is on the new proposal of giving a new life to movie serial. As it will also give the new content to Netflix as soon as it will hit theaters. The proposal involves movie studios creating miniseries of roughly 10 episodes that would be released in theaters every two months or so. A few weeks after hitting theaters, these one- to two-hour episodes would become available exclusively via Netflix. First the company would prefer to go with the its original series like “House of Cards” and “Orange Is The New Black.”
Earlier in Feb, Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos explained that the users prefer to watch the several episodes of a show at a time rather than spacing them out over longer periods was changing the way we talk about television. And its a not a good step of releasing a top-quality show at a rate slower than most shows appear on cable, when customers come to expect marathon sessions of their favorite shows.
There is also a cost problem, as company needs a lot of money per episode to offer content that could bring in large theater audiences, rather Netflix has shown that it’s not afraid to invest in premium content.
