The release of Cannes Palme D’Or winner, Blue is the Warmest Color is coming up in October. IFC/ Sundance Selects marketing their official US trailer for the lesbian love story. Despite the sex scene controversies in the movie, it is one of the best films of the year. The film is rated NC-17. Anybody who has watched the film would agree that it is one of the best love stories showcased in the big screen. The original French poster and the fan-made painted poster has become a huge hit among the movie-going audiences. The posters depict the lesbian love angle openly. The blue accents seem very natural as well.
‘Blue is the Warmest Color’ was originally called ‘La vie d’Adele: chapitre 1&2 in French. The movie is directed by Abdellatif Kechiche, the French-Tunisian filmmaker who co-wrote the script with Ghalia Lacroix. It is based on Julie Maroh’s graphic novel. The plot of the movie is engaging. Adele Exarchopoulos is the protagonist of the movie. She is a young woman whose ecstasies and losses span across several years. Lea Seydoux is the older woman in the movie who ignites her desire and become the love of her life.
The film premiered at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. It won the coveted Palme d’Or prize. Unsurprisingly, the movie was the favourite of many of the viewers. IFC & Sundance Selects will be releasing the movie, ‘Blue is the Warmest Color’ in selected theaters, beginning from October 25.
