“Playing Against Liverpool Is The Biggest Challenge”- Rooney

Wayne Rooney, the prolific Manchester United striker believes that the bi-annual Premier League matches against Liverpool would be very important, despite the ever-important local derby against noisy neighbours, Manchester City.

City and United play against each other for the first time this season at the Etihad Stadium. The game on Sunday is believed to be a huge momentum shifter for one of the two teams, for the rest of the season.

Rooney claims that the historic battle between United-Liverpool remains the biggest match of all of them.

“City’s recent success is very good for the league. But, I believe that United and Liverpool is the game to look out for”, Rooney told the reporters.

However, Rooney still believes that the Manchester Derby would make for a compelling view this weekend, but is also quick to say that the result would not matter much when it comes to the title race. “There is a long way to go when it comes to the title. Although, it won’t define the season, it is huge game, the local derby”, Rooney said.

“Hopefully, the result would be in our favor. I have scored a few goals against City. I am looking forward to this match”, he added.
