Paul George-“I Am Finalizing A 5-Year Extension With The Indiana Pacers”

Paul George may join ‘The Indiana Pacers’ as part of a five-year contract. The deal is worth around $90 million.

George is one of NBA’s brightest upcoming players. He had a brilliant third season in which he averaged 17.4 points, 4.1 assists, 7.6 re-bounds and 1.8 steals per contest. The energetic forward was awarded the ‘Association’s Most Improved Player’. He also received the All-NBA Third Team and All-Defensive Second Team Honors.

He was also a first time All-Star in 2012-2013. The 23 year old was a key contributor in the Pacer’s journey to the Eastern Conference semifinals. They lost to eventual NBA champion, Miami Heat.

The franchise selected George 10th overall out of Fresno State in the 2010 draft. However, he repaid the faith placed on him by the organization in a huge manner. He played his heart out for the team and was instrumental in his team progressing in the competition.

George presents unique problems to the opponents. Standing at 6’8” and weighing 221 pounds, he possesses the athleticism to guard any of the perimeter position. He can stretch the floor with his jump shot and is excellent at rebounds. He passes very well as well.

He would have been a free agent in the 2013 off-season. He was coming into the last year of his rookie deal.

The Pacers are expected to be a serious threat in the Eastern Conference. The nucleus of the team consists of George, Roy Hibbert and David West. The return of Danny Granger is taking time because the knee injury seems to be a lot worse than what was initially speculated.
