The Paranormal Activity franchise is back with its fifth installment. The previous four films were extremely successful ones with fans asking for more. However, the fifth installment has been delayed until 2014. The film is tentatively titled, ‘Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones. The trailer is out online. However, the trailer gives away a little too much about the movie. So, think twice before watching it.
The franchise was initially titled, ‘The Oxnard Tapes. This mainly targets the Latin American audiences, while still remaining within the Paranormal Universe.
In this version, teenagers explore the crime scene in their neighbourhood following their neighbour’s death. One of them starts developing weird, supernatural abilities and experiences lost time. All of them wish that they had simply stay put in their homes.
This movie looks like a cross between the usual ‘Activity’ troupes, a little of V/H/S and a mix of ‘Chronicle’ as the young man uses his powers to fend off attackers. The movie also has a strong religious aspect attached to it.
With Carlos Pratts, Richard Cabral, Jorge Diaz, David Fernandez Jr., and Catherine Toribio part of the film, the movie would definitely haunt us when it releases. The movie is directed by Christopher Landon. The film is expected to release on the 3rd of January.
