One Comment On Facebook Could Get You In Jail!

Next time you raise your voice on facebook, be alert. Texas teenager landed in trouble while doing so on facebook in February, online argument with his friend led him behind bars. Awaiting trial and could be punished up to eight years in prison.

All this started during a online heated argument after a MMORPG game “League of Legends” between Justin Carter an his friend.

“Someone had said something to the effect of ‘Oh you’re insane, you’re crazy, you’re messed up in the head,’ to which he replied ‘Oh yeah, I’m real messed up in the head, I’m going to go shoot up a school full of kids and eat their still beating hearts.” Carter’s dad Jack replied in a interview, “The next two lines were lol and jk.”

The suggestions being “lol” and “jk” at the end, a woman from Canada took this post as serious and called the police after finding that Carter’s old address is nearby an elementary school. Carter charged with “terroristic threat” and arrested. All this kept him in jail since March 27. Trails begin on July 1.

These king of events make us to question our right to freedom of speech.”
