Marc Andree is about to join the board of directors of Oculus, a well known company which makes giant, motion-tracking, screen-in-front-of-your-eyes headset of a similar name, the Oculus Rift.
“We believe Oculus will not only alter the gaming landscape but will redefine fundamental human experiences in areas like film, education, architecture, and design,” wrote Andreessen in a statement, reports Reuters.
Some of the facts helps to explain his belief in Oculus and his interest in giving his physical presence in some of the company’s most recent round of venture capital. Andreessen, of the venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, led the $75 million funding round. It’s in news that this is company’s best cash raised funding up to date, in which $2.4 million is spent on successful campaign and a more-official $16 million round of Series A funding that closed this past June.
Currently the price of retail version of Oculus Rift is yet to be detemined. Some of the company’s executive says that it’ll be somewhere around $300 to $400.
