Barnes & Noble‘s Nook launched Nook Press today, a new and convenient self-publishing platform for authors. Apparently it’s an improved version of their previous publishing platform, PubIt! It has technology designed with it’s partner FastPencil, and if it’s as successful as it’s predecessor, it’s a fast and easy way to publish your stories, which would reach the users quickly.
Pubit! was the original platform and still gets at least 20 per cent more independent authors every quarter. It’s been almost two and a half years since it’s release, but the customers still seem to love it, as 30 per cent of them purchase self-published content each month.
Nook Press offers the ‘Quick Start’ option, which enables the newbies to try out the tools before actually starting, and the ‘Live Chat’ option, which is available Monday through Friday, but only between 9:00 am and 9:00 pm EST. Also, with the specialised tools, the writers can upload their manuscripts once and continue to write or edit directly. They can sell their books to thousands of Nook fans in a short span of time, free of cost. The authors can also invite their friends, family or selected fans to view and comment their scripts for advice and support. Nook Press is also completely safe and secure.
It’s easy to use, convenient and free. It also seeks to give an early boost to the sales of the upcoming Nook HD and Nook HD+, which will have a Nook Channel dedicated to Nook Press.
