Now Microsoft & Sony are in the news with Xbox One, PS4 that leaves Nintendo behind. Recent news is Nintendo is planning some internal gameplan changes and development team shifts.
Shigeru Miyamoto mentioned on developing new intellectual properties that it’ll be greatly helped by increasing dev team size, which will allow Nintendo to focus on in-demand franchises.
He said –
“We’ve been working on what we can do to increase our internal staff in a way that will allow us to have more projects going at the same time, We’re doing this not by going out of house to different companies and having them develop games for us, but instead by working with partner companies and subsidiaries in a way that allows the Tokyo studio to run more projects.”
Nintendo has not been able to relive the saga of franchises to the likes of Sega, Namco, Capcom and Square. And new entrants like Next Level Games and Retro Studios handling beloved classics in addition to the team at Monolith Soft are generating some real heat, Nintendo can potentially create some real blockbuster titles for Wii U and 3DS.
All these internal policy changes will show how fruitful they are after passing the litmus test of Real World Gamers, which we’ll eventually see. As of no company should really focus on increasing sales.
