Netflix, the on-demand television and movie streaming service, released an update for its PlayStation 3 app, with a new design that is more user friendly and makes it easier to access advanced audio and subtitle options.
The update allows viewers to manage these features from the video player itself, without having to return to the top menu interface. The user simply needs to hit “Audio and subtitles” to see all the options available for the particular episode or the film, which includes the available subtitle languages, surround sound options and dub audio tracks.
PlayStation 3 owners who use the official Blu-Ray remote control can access this feature by simply pressing the dedicated “subtitles” button at any time. Netflix has also improved “trickplay” which shows the users a series of screenshots, to help them jump backwards or forwards to a particular scene with greater ease and precision.
Users can now download the updated Netflix app on the PlayStation Network. An update for Smart TV’s and Blu-Ray players will be released soon, according to the company,
