NES Remix Contest Cancelled

A time attack contest for NES Remix has been canceled attributable to players utilizing an exploit to decrease their times. The winner of the competition was set to own their run officially recorded by Nintendo, that clearly will not be happening.

In a comment on one of the game’s Miiverse posts, the game’s director, Koichi Hayashida, apologized for the inconvenience and thanked players for their time. “In the interest of being as fair as possible, we tend to decide to terminate the event while not recognizing the fastest time,” Hayashida wrote. “We sincerely apologize for this matter, significantly as a result of the overwhelming majority of people contend fairly.”

The contest was cancelled due to exploit.
