MERS virus breaking out in Saudi Arabia

A new deadly respiratory virus MERS has spread across Saudi Arabia and it is generating fears over there as it is the time when the area’s population increases off due to the on-going annual Hajj pilgrimage.

The syndrome is called Middle East Respiratory Syndrome, often abbreviated as and pronounced as MERS. It is caused by a coronavirus and is a respiratory illness.

During this period, millions of Muslims from around the world make pilgrimages to Mecca, and due to this there has been a fear outbreak in the city.

The Saudi ministry has been trying to take full control of the situation and is working on ways to prevent it from spreading.
