A Medical Device In Star Trek Is A Real Thing Now

The Scanadu Scout, a Medical Device or something like the medical tricorder from Star Trek which scans the person’s vital signs. It can read your blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen levels, respiratory rate, and body temperature when you will place against your forehead.

Not only this, it also sends this report to your smartphone so that you can upload it to your doctor, or even your Facebook profile.

Scout is expected to come in market upto March, 2014, as currently it is in the process of getting FDA approval. This funding was lead by Relay Ventures with participation from Tony Hsieh’s VegasTechFund and Jerry Yang’s Ame Cloud Ventures. Scout is soon going to become a part of smartphone home medical devices that VCs are throwing money at these days.
