Mattrick Had Attempted To Purchase Zynga

It was reported that the Ex-Xbox chief Don Mattrick, who is the new CEO of Zynga, had attempted Microsoft bosses to purchase Zynga, some years back. Bloomberg sources revealed that Mattrick was eyeing on Zynga during 2010, while he opened talks between Microsoft and the social games behemoth.

Mattrick and previous Zynga boss Mark Pincus became friends when negotiations took place during the height of the Facebook game boom.

Though the deal was never reached, but he and Pincus remained in regular contact and discussed about his move during March, this year. Bloomberg’s stated that both are avid road-bike enthusiasts, and they would often go riding together.

With controversies over policies for Xbox One, Mattrick left for Zynga eventually. It seems that Mattrick have been planning for his departure from a long time.

Mattrick is expected to earn $19 million in his first year at Zynga.
