In the upcoming NHL 14, Martin Brodeus beat Sergei Bobrovsky of the Columbus Blue Jackets to become the new NHL Cover Athlete. Brodeus will be the first goalie, as the New Jersey Devils goaltender, on the cover of an NHL game since NHL ‘97, as announced by Electronic Arts, in association with the NHL and NHLPA.
The campaign grossed over 22 million votes in EA’s second annual cover athlete contest. NHL 14 will be available by September 10th in North America and by September 13th worldwide for PS3 and Xbox 360.
Brodeus seemed very happy with the win as he told the media, “The support I’ve received throughout the cover vote campaign has been incredible. My kids pushed me to participate in the campaign, and they are really excited to see their dad on the cover of the game they play all the time. I want to thank all the NHL fans who campaigned and voted for me.”
