Galatasaray manager Roberto Mancini has announced that he is not interested in signing on Nemanja Vidic.
Mancini admitted that he believes that Vidic is an outstanding player, who is running out of contract with United this summer said he is not interested in the current January transfer window.
Vidic has been a key player for United and the club is eager to extend its deal at Old Trafford for further a year but his agent Silvano Martina reprted that the defender would not stay.
The 32-year-old, who joined United from Spartak Moscow in 2006, will be available on a free transfer at the end of the season and has been linked with Juventus, Roma, Napoli, Monaco and Galatasaray.
Acordding to the Express, Mancini said “Every manager would want a player as experienced as Vidic on their team.
“He is the type of player who can really make a difference, however, I need a player who can play Champions League football.
“It doesn’t matter how good he is I need a player ahead for the Champions League urgently and as a result Vidic isn’t in our plans.”
United could lose three stalwarts of their back four next summer when Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra’s current contracts also expire.
