Manchester City’s Woeful Form In Away Games Hasn’t Improved

Manchester City continued their torrid form away from home. They lost 3-2 at Villa Park despite having the lead twice in the game. They were in complete control of the match for almost 70 minutes in the match. They should have won the game comprehensively.

City have only taken one away point from three away games and it has been against relatively easy opponents. Unlike their past two away games, Manchester City played well in this match. They should have taken the three points. They dominated in every area, but had to pay the price for the few chances which Villa created.
City seemed excellent every time they were going forward. They failed to capitalize on their chances and their lapse in concentration allowed Villa to win the match.
Manager, Manuel Pellegrini needs to reverse the trend of losing the away games. Manchester United and Chelsea have had poor starts to the season as well.

Joe Hart’s form has been dipping ever since the season began. He failed to clear a ball before Weimann scored Villa’s winner. David Platt, assistant manager of Manchester City under Roberto Mancini admitted that the team wanted to sign Begovic as a replacement goalkeeper. “Joe Hart looks nervous. His distribution is poor and is committing silly errors. He has shown few signs of brilliance in this season. Every team needs a great goalkeeper.”, he said.
Pellegrini would be working hard to restore the confidence of Joe Hart. He believes that he possesses all the attributes of a ‘top keeper’.
