Lupita Nyong’o Skipping The Italian Premiere Of ’12 Years’

Lupita Nyong’o, the 12 Years A Slave star decided to skip the Italian Premiere of the film due to the recent outrage over the Italian posters, which gives importance to her white co-stars, and not Chiwetel Ejiofer (the lead actor). However, there is no official reason given by Lupita regarding her dropping out of the premiere. For all you know, it could be a completely different reason.

Earlier this week, Lionsgate and BIM Distribuzine ( Italian Distributor) have issued statements and they have publicly apologized over the posters. “They were unauthorized and were not approved by any of the producers or the licensors of the film”, the statement read.

Another eagerly anticipated film in the wake of the South African revolutionary, ‘Mandela: A long Walk To Freedom’ would be screened at the festival. ‘Captain Philips’ will be the other film which would be screened. The actors of both the movies are expected to attend the premiere. Idris Elba and Naomie Harris have confirmed their presence at the festival in their respective websites.
